Building Amazing Communities

archi-treasures is an arts-based community development organization working to reduce social isolation and raise community involvement to build public spaces. archi-treasures' projects involve people of all ages to design a community space together—and then actually build and use it.

Founded in 1996, archi-treasures was formed by architects and members of community development organizations around Chicago, who recognized the need for communities to organize, build capacity and participate in the redevelopment of their neighborhoods.

MAPLAB has been supporting and involved with archi-treasures in various ways since 1996. Go to www.architreasures.org to learn more about their work and impacts, and or how to get involved and support the organization directly. archi-treasures is what makes Chicago great.
